Martini Henry bullets?

:)Hello, here's a photo of some of the bullets I've been finding where I also got those bullets casings in an earlier post. I'm assuming that the bullets fit the casings. The bullets measure 3.2cm in length by 1cm width.

Should have a double round rimfire firing pin mark on the base. However, Winchester had designs like these too but were a centerfire weapon.

There used to be two rifle ranges here. One of them still has the original target plate on site, leaning up against an old tree. There's a photo of it in one of the history books here. Not easy to find though, and a good walk through the bush. I never gone alone in those parts, it's just too easy to loose your sense of direction.

Yes those are Martini Henry bullets..I have had a few packs of 10 of them and I used to shoot the Martinis...those are later made rounds as the early Martini's had foil cartridges..yours is solid brass..probably late 1880s.

Hi Dean, yes they're made of brass, and are dated to the late 1800's. The sites here are just too old, for the relics I find onthem, to be a later date. Think of this, 11 people live in my town including me, but around me, all within walking distance, I've got about 6 ghost suburbs in which to detect in. Some are on top of hills, others, are in deep gullies, near an old running creek.
