Some good heavy stuff in there but mostly 14K. The cross (without tooth) is 17.4 gr., two bands at front left are 11.2 in 18K and 12.9 in 14K. The sites they came from are such that by the time you find anything you couldn't care less, but the grand total looks good in a photo. Cluster ring is a fake but 18K, 11.2 gr. --mostly the weight of all that glass.

Actuually the opposite is true--these are their leftovers! I just happen to know a bit more about strata, sidewalls and grades than they do. I also run a pulse sometimes.

Clive... Thanks for sending out your book to me the other week I had to read it twice for it to sink in. But here is some of my results from the other day I would not of found some of this silver because of all the trash it was in if it weren't for some things in your book...

Thanks Again

Here is how today's hunt went..... 1 1914 Barber Quarter, 1 Standing Liberty Quarter date worn off, 1 1917 merc. dime, 1951,1961,1964 dime, 2 wheat 1941,1953 also misc. finds 1993 beach badge, 1967 pin with the letter T also a button dated 1939 with a insignia and name Wonceae Dannakk if anybody know what that is let me know. and lot's of clad from the 60"s

I had to hunt in high Disc. because today was like hunting in a trash dump but the Excal still picked coins out of the trash I'm sure we have missed some jewelry but I'm still happy with this hunt.....

Any suggestion's for hunting in this much trash???? Excal II 10" coil

Great Find's

Try running in Auto, Disc at "5" with a very slow even sweep. This worked well for me on the last trip in one section that is all clumps of iron from an old ship. This will bring up anything consistent and break up the iron. Nice hunt as well.

What I mean is picking your targets within the strata--ignoring the ones that are sitting in loose sand and being moved around with it. Base sand is often even a different colour. By sidewall I mean examining the contour of the water's edge to see if there is any scalloping or changes in the sand levels. The locals I compete with are hard workers but are basically out there digging everything, everywhere. Would not have found much of anything had I done the same save for the occasional recent drop.

Man I tell ya, when you get to work, YOU GET TO WORK! I LOVE IT! Ever wonder how cjc pulls loads like those? Well today's your lucky day, he actually publishes how to get it done. I suggest if you have not read them, that you do so, they have helped my #'s tremendously. WTG CLIVE and thanks again!
OBTW, I GOTTA ask, what units were you using?

stunning finds mate  you must spend a lot of time in the water to get all that loot.
