Many of you have been contacted by PM here and this is what I'm getting copies of...

I"m a newer member on this forum i became a member of this forum because it is friendly & has a good diversity of brands & topics to post in. all brands of detector are welcome & most types of detecting are covered. the members are super help full and are very patient with new & not so new detectorists questions. i"v been helped heaps & hopefully helped others to make better finds.
it seems this is the best place to get reviews on new detectors and not the normal sales pitch type review but in the field by experienced detector users.
i love this forum so keep up the good work

Hello All,
Personally I believe there's room for everyone in this new Virtual World!
I must confess however, I've learned a lot about both equipment and people since I became enthralled
by this hobby (again). One of the most important lessons, pertaining to sites? It's always better to buy than sale. :)

Good luck!

I guess I should address this myself, as it has gotten out of control.

First of all, I never "harvested" names. Secondly I did not spam anyone. I thought it was a great contest, where anyone has a chance to win. After receiving two emails from people who thought I was spamming, I decided to voluntarily drop out of the contest. No one asked me to.

Here is a copy of the message I sent to the users of the forum in question

As far as Findmall goes, I sent a PM to one member; someone who's opinion I value, and who I thought would bring a lot to the table. This was sent a personal contact of mine, not an unsolicited PM. IF anyone has issue with me or the issue, please feel free to contact me directly at my email address, neilhschwartz@yahoo.com.

Here is the original message:

Dear XXXXXXX Forum Members and Staff:
There have been some questions regarding my ranking in the August new membership contest. Questions have arisen whether or not I have harvested other metal detecting forums in order to win the contest. Many of you know me as a frequent contributor of other forums. Over the years I have built quite a network of fellow metal detecting enthusiasts. This has translated into a rather large "buddy list" of more than 500 names and email addresses, many of which I no longer remember, and who no longer remember me. While the winning one of these great prizes would be nice, it is not as important as my long standing reputation as an ambassador the the hobby. It is with this in mind that I have asked Larry to remove me from the running for the contest. I hope to continue my contributions as both a member and an administrator of the forum. I wish you all good luck in the contest.

Happy Hunting,
Neil

Me too. I hear they are "Lucky"

I post a lot on American Relic Hunters and My Treasure Spot. I do know about Larry C and his tricks. most people that have any dealings with him soon part ways with him gladly. he is not doing this hobbie any good.

Unbelievable. Why would anyone want to go any where else?! When it comes down to one big family............this is the place!!!! Doesn't get any better than here. What's that old saying...........There's no place like home.........There's no place like home...........There's no place like home! We're home Toto!!!!

He is a control freak who has banned some of the best relic hunters in the hobby for not bowing down to him. I'm not the greatest relic hunter by no means but was banned for taking up for a fellow poster that had had enough of his garbage. I wouldn't let him pizz down my throat if my guts were on fire. He can keep his diggin tools, I won't sell out to him for no reason. I reckon thats why he's trying to get members and new people back. Some people have to learn the hard way, if they leave they'll be back soon. Yeah my feelings are strong about this but I learned from experience. You have one of the best forums out there and don't have to worry about a thing. I post here and The Spot and ARH sometimes but here is where some of my best buds are. If this post is out of order feel free to delete it, I won't take offence. But y'all be warned there are wolves out there in sheeps clothing. Just my opinion of the guy.....Flipper out.

Great Forum .. Keep up all the great work...

As always.. post where you want.. Never had a problem before with that before or now...

My idea here was to let everyone know that my best posters were being singled out and made moderators in an attempt to just steal the site. Glad all of this is getting some light on it...

Thanks for sharing.. Guvner..

We should be allowed to post our opinions and experience. I for one would like to know if someone has had bad experiences with a certain brand, model, dealer, or any other person. I find this site just fine. Keep up the good work. Also, Larry wrote "A texas oil millionaire is my partner " . I do not believe I would trust an oil millionaire when in the times we live in all the oil mongers are billionaires. He must not be doing something right. In addition I believe it should be Texas, not texas but that's just lil ole me from Corpus Christi, Texas.

I have made too many friends on Findmall over the last 7 or 8 years to leave, even though I have been asked to help out with other forums. Home is where the heart is and this is home for me. :inlove:
