The days of the heavy, slow and emi prone are coming to an end.
Only if you're living on the moon. I have huge emi problems when I'm hunting with the deus.

I must then..lol. My f75se on the other hand, i couldn't catch a ride to Pluto to give it a shot so i decided to sell it.

Some machines are harder to learn than others. :)

Just because something is worse, doesn't make the Deus better. Saying, other manufacturers should take a emi prone machine like the Deus as an example is just too much. The hype has to stop.

I went hunting today near a river and guess what happened? I uploaded one example of the emi free Deus (overhead line more than half a mile away).

You can download both files for better quality, if you want.

And what is that supposed to show anyone? A 5 second video, you dont show your actual settings on the machine, the surroundings and you arent evening moving around...i can do that with any machine i have ever owned. Just an example, I have a low voltage underground fence that runs around a 3 acre section of my property for my dogs. Any machine I have ever owned(which is quite a few as i used to sell them)does the exact same thing for about 10 ft. On either side of it.

I agree Jim. If there is one thing that irks me its when people feel they need to put down a machine in a thread someone started stating they like their machine and someone feels the need to ruin it. It's pretty simple really, have some respect for other people and let them have their own thread talking about how much they like their machine. If you dont like yours START YOUR OWN THREAD ABOUT IT! Usually, you can just go look at their profile and see more about them. Most of the time you will find they have no posts asking questions about the machine they are so quick to put down.

You are the one who is putting other machines and manufacturers down: QUOTE: "The deus is cutting edge technology and in my opinion some of the other manufacturers better get off their butts and get to work. The days of the heavy, slow and emi prone are coming to an end."

I don't feel the need to start a thread. I just don't like people like you, who are making false claims and try to influence others. Especially when they have no clue what they are talking about.

Grow up.

Feelings mutual. Go make me another awesome 5 second video so we can learn some more from you.... Lol

silverseeker2 has been around long enough that he/she can step in and add to the thread any time wanted. That particular outing sounds as if it was awesome as was the Deus on that site. My outings haven't displayed the same awesomeness yet and if you would actually read the posts instead of profiles you should be able to deduce that I'm learning the Deus as I stated with only
4 or 5 hours on it at that time.
I'm having fun learning the machine , as well as razzing those who have an apparent compulsion to defend XP , who I'm sure can defend themselves---I realize they're French but after all we're talking a metal detecting company here , not national borders :) The fact that there is a 7 page "wish list" at the top of the forum testifies to the fact that the Deus must not be perfect as Andy states in his handbook ---no detector is.
The fact that I'm new to the machine doesn't prevent me from giving my objective opinions--the tones and the arm cup are disappointing-- to me--if you feel the only critiques allowed here must be flattering , then I can hook you up with a good proctologist who can help you put your ideas where they belong! I'm not going to patronize a manufacturer or poster but give an objective opinion , in the meantime I'm going to slightly trashier site today and see if the legendary separation on the Deus is evident. Perhaps I can improve my attraction to the machine by experimenting more with the 4 and 5 tone options vs the full tone sounds. The 75 ltd delta pitch tones were a real disappointment as well but the etrac spoils you , however I did fine with it running 4 or less. A cool thing with the Deus is that I might be able to figure out how to assign a high tone to the nickel/gold area and hunt it like a CZ3d with the x/y screen and a disc number---now that might be cool!

For only having 5 hours,or is it 10 now,you have alot to say.I've had it for 3 years and with new updates still learning it.You must be one clever guy or speaking about BS

Hey Guys,How ya'll,
When I said The Deus is AWESOME I meant The Deus is AWESOME!!! Reasons being is this machine
to me makes the ground come more alive and just feel this machine won't miss much in the ground.
It is so versatile for ANY hunting condition and settings can be changed instantly with great results.
I'm not knocking any other units as we all know what we like and use and we all have the choice to use what we want.
When I first bought my Deus and Andy's book I was like "what did I get into now"? It seemed all very complicated and
thought this machine will take forever to get good at. Well The Deus takes all that away and after 1 trip out, This machine
was fairly simple to start using and start listening to what machine was saying by digging all targets at first.Just
listening to Audio and digging.I can see every outing out with the Deus will only GET BETTER!!! Another reason The Deus is Awesome
as it can find great targets correlated in with junk targets as I had a wheatie ring out but it seemed like there was something
right on top or darn close to this mixed high tone sound. Well I dug her out and there was a nail right on top of this wheatie.
I was stunned. So I base my AWESOMENESS to the CAPABILITIES of this machine and what it can do and not by my first time out finds
which were pretty darn good for an HOURS hunt. 2nd hunt also PRODUCED!!! So @ sprchng, put some time in and figure out the
basics of this machine and experiment with settings and THE AWESOME will come to you and you won't feel the need to bash others
for their OPINIONS! By the way,it's he and your right, I have been around awhile detecting as my greatest day hunting was at The Depot hunt
in Virginia with some of the BEST hunters in AMERICA... One more thing,(THE DEUS IS AWESOME)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I picked up the Deus because of it's capabilities as well silverseekr and it seemed awfully complicated at first to me also but like the etrac , once you run through the menu and the settiings a few times it really simplifies itself. Of course the effect of those changes are only seen with experimentation which takes some time that I haven't invested yet--on all that I can agree with.
To the contrary , I don't "feel the need to bash others for their OPINIONS" , if anything , this thread displays just the opposite.
"If you don't have something good to say, go away"--that's the BS--- all a matter of perspective I suppose. I'll remember that in the future but won't pay any attention to it. :)

I saw none of the separation capabilities today in a trashy park--quite the opposite , which led to a hunt truncated by frustration and some bench testing which revealed some interesting results.
I continued to wonder how others have commented(like yourself) on how those tones were sounding but I was experiencing nothing like that , and that's exactly how I hunt with the etrac. Well , in the garage on a bench , the sound from the remote sounds better than the sound from the WS5 phones I have even though it's a puny little thing and an arm length from the ears. While there are tones in the phones they're sratchy and hazy sounding-lacking distinction. So I stuck in an adaptor which allowed me to plug in the GG Ultimates which I usually hunt with and the change in clarity was remarkable.

When the threat of thunderstorms pass we will see if it's a new game or not.

BTW: if different phones improve the tones , that's great , but I'll still feel the arm cuff sucks!!!! :)

Hello again guys,
Here's my opinion on some of this. Some of buy these newer machines hoping
and thinking were going to find more and expect to go out every time and find
something good.I respect everyone thoughts and as people we are entitled to them.
So my first experience with the Deus was awesome for me and another persons
not so well .I honestly think in time that anyone that uses The DEUS and will spend
the time and learn it's many uses we will in time agree The DEUS is AWESOME.
As far as the tones I used 3 and 4 tones in Basic 1.(WS4 headphones) Ran my sensitivity down to
85 and there was just a hair of chatter.Very dry ground. Here's my thoughts on the tones with my short experience.
If it's a loner target you'll get the single tone and if there's a mixed sound or tones take a
mental note or write it down but I rely on mental notes and DIG IT and the 3 foot surrounding area
and learn what were digging just by sound no numbers. That's just me as I feel I get a better
understanding of what machine is saying without trying to deal with numbers and sound together.
To me Audio is everything and not relying on numbers .JMHO. Once we learn the sounds of all different
scenarios of targets then we will always come home with something good unless your on a heavily
hunted site. Then it's different conditions. I've held many brand detectors in the field and with The DEUS,
You just feel the power this machine is CAPABLE of!!! Just look at all the great finds in the last year
just using the DEUS on all the posts of Deus finds. Not too shabby I'd say!!! A friend of mine from out of
State uses a Deus and has made some great significant finds that us Midwesterners would die for to find!
So all I can say is "THE DEUS IS AWESOME" and the best of luck to all The Deus users....
Would also like to say Thanks for all the information you guys post on the Deus as I have learned much
just from reading your guys adventures and videos. Thanks again and Thanks to the makers of DEUS!!!!
silverseeker 2

Ya know it is very possible that the Deus just isn't for you. It sounds like you are very good with the Etrac. The Etrac is truly a Great machine but so is the Deus in the right hands.

There are not many people who can easily adjust from one machine to another.

I do hope that you manage to make it work and satisfy yourself with it like some of the other posters on this forum are so pleased.

Good luck with all your hunts no matter what machine you are using!!

Jeff , I appreciate the diplomatic nature of your post as well as your silverseeker but I don't give up that easily.
After a quick between the storms hunt I'm convinced I'm going to have to experience the awesomeness of XP's warranty service before I get a true indication of the Deus wireless experience. Tones improve dramatically in both crispness and tone when I plug my Grey Ghosts into the remote, there's even a big improvement with a cheap pair of earbuds I found while detecting one day. The WS5s are either going south or have gone. While bench testing the response with the WS5s the report now spans half the coil while testing with just the remote or other headphones is quick report that makes a complete cycle within the space of the center bar. If you're familiar with the response feature on the etrac , the WS5 phones now sound like a cross between the 'smooth' and 'long' response settings---almost like a 'pitch hold' sound without the treshold change. In addition , when you push a button on the remote there is a high pitch chirp confirming a button has been pushed. This chirp is audible from the remote(when 'on') as well as in the Grey ghosts and the earbuds but totally non existent in the WS5s. This tells me the high tones on the WS5s are ,or have, -- totally failed.
I don't remember the tones being this jumbled a week ago when I first started learning this new language. Tones have digressed from then till now

Sounds like there is a definite problem with those WS5 headphones. Send them in, I bet you will get a new pair quicly and without any hassles.
