Man, The Deus is AWESOME!!!

Took my Deus out for her maiden voyage. Decided I'll just use WS4 headphones and no remote for a little while
just to feel machine out.The AUDIO on this unit is phenomenal.I ran just Basic 1 (12 KHZ)(4 tones) and in 1 hour pulled out a
silver 58' rosie dime,1931 buff. nickel, a crushed little silver ring and a 40' wheaty along with some other trash.
After using this machine I am pumped up!!! Went back 2 nites later and am amazed what this machine is capable of.
I dug about 75 targets and 30 something were coins. All denominations.Dug trash also but the coin ratio was high.
All these targets were dug in a 20x8 foot area as this site is a corner house kitty corner from me that has been foreclosed
on. Home built in 1940's. There's still a huge lot here to detect as I haven't scratched the surface here. This Deus with
9" coil is the Cat's Meow.I own the 11" coil too but am just getting familiar with the Deus. This machine hits all targets
with GREAT SEPARATION. Most targets dug were 6 to 8 inches but the deeper ones had a soft response but I knew
what machine was telling me.You can just feel the POWER in this unit.Like none I've ever used. You can hear targets right
next to each other as this machine seems to not miss what in the ground. It's like the ground is more Alive with signals
with this unit.I own plenty of Detectors and after using THE DEUS I don't see a need to keep so many machines around anymore.
This will be my new go to machine!!! Can't wait to gain some hours on this unit as all I can say is "THE DEUS IS AWESOME!!!

Keep plugging away at those older houses! Seems like I consistently score awesome goodies around old houses and so do plenty of others on this site!

12 khz will net you a larger variety of finds while 4 khz will hit deeper copper and silver coins most of the time without any other parameter changes. Enjoy and keep us posted!

I'm finding the tones pretty disappointing actually , compared to the etrac at least. Running full tones is only a slight improvement over the f75. I suppose that's to be expected with the faster response time as it doesn't have the time to be fully melodious. I can see it's not going to be a trashy park hunter but it was fun in a relatively clean school grounds. Very tight on low conductors but I'm digging most of the good signals until I familarize myself with it. GB'ed about the same as the f75 , 88 to 90 with about a third to a half of the mineralization graph dark. Dug a few coins near 6".

Wow you really don't think the Deus is a trashy park hunter? Those are the places the Deus kicks but over most other machines.

Making the right changes to the Deus and using the notch correctly will produce coins at 8kz that you never thought were there.

Time will tell but I'm an info junkie when I detect and at this point I feel starved for details when comparing to the etrac in multi conductive.
Not trying to be critical , just haven't been overpowered by the tones on the Deus yet.
Adjusting certain items like the threshold pitch on the etrac helps it blossom so maybe there's something similar to come with the Deus.
It was the same with the f75--a simple number and a grunt (no matter how fast) just left you looking for more.

You are on the right track!! You are the first one I've seen to post here that you are learning the tones before learning the numbers. That's great, that is where you will get the full potential of the Dues.

I too love using the Etrac and yes the Deus is VERY different. You are right that grunt is not the Etrac warble and it never will be. When using the Deus you need to concentrate much more on the subtle differences in that grunt. After you use it a while your ears just seem to pick up on it much better.

Do you remember the first time you heard the Minelab FBS sounds? That first XS I used drove me insane!!!
I had no clue what I was doing! In fact I thought there was something wrong with my machine!

Now I love that sound!!

Just takes time..

Good luck!!

I thought the etrac was possessed!
Only have 4 or 5 hours on the deus so not ready to throw it off the bridge by a long shot at this point.
Sure has a frail and effeminate feeling to it that I have to get used to as well---really happy it didn't come in pink camo!!:)

Frail and effeminate? How about you stick to your etrac and leave the deus for those who appreciate it's technology. Just a suggestion.

I took some of that self adhering wrap that looks like an compression bandage and wrapped the handle for protection--makes it swing almost as well as a f75 and butched it up a bit. :)
It definitely sweeps a totlot faster than the etrac
Still looking for the awesome

It's been on craigslist for a couple of weeks now but no calls. Maybe if I included the above link it might help support the durability claims, after all ,who wants to take a pink Ford pinto to the mechanic. :)
Planning on swinging it ALL day today on a clad/jewelry hunt, maybe some awesome will happen!!----4 or 5 hours are about max with the etrac.

That self adhering compression bandage makes for a nice detector handwrap... Good Luck today sprchng!

After looking at your profile, i just have to ask this. Why not start some posts and ask questions for some help? I went back 6 months and i dont see one post by you in this forum besides this thread. It looks like you live in the etrac/fisher forums though. Some machines are more difficult to learn than others. You comparing the deus to a pinto seems to support your lack of knowledge of the machine. The deus is cutting edge technology and in my opinion some of the other manufacturers better get off their butts and get to work. The days of the heavy, slow and emi prone are coming to an end.
After the announcement last week, now I have to sell my atpro since xp made it useless to me...lol. It was a machine i kept around just for that wet occasion after I sold my ctx and then boom, $68 later I have a waterproof deus... XP should be commended for actually caring about their customers.

Only if you're living on the moon. I have huge emi problems when I'm hunting with the deus.

Thanks mud , but nothing awesome happened today although I was able to run with the big dogs with their 3030's until the weather stopped us.
Couple junk rings , enough clad for gas and a cool brass pelican statue/figurine was as good as anyone did. Slowing down on digging those 70 numbers abit.
Deus arm cup needs some work--maybe some more sports wrap. More butchness :)No lining on it and too flexible to hold a position which fits tightly on the forearm and it slips around something horrible when you sweat or get wet. It reminds me alot of the piece of ---- the etrac has for an arm cup. I'm glad I replaced it with an aluminim one. I will say the arm cup on the f75ltd was far superior to any I've used on other machines--formable and lined, no need for a strap on that machine.
