Maiden Hunt with Deus II Did not Dissapoint

My buddy and I got out to a new site today in Northern Virginia and I took the Deus II on her maiden hunt; the Deus II-did not disappoint. We stumbled into a colonial house site, bricks and broken glass in heavy iron everywhere. I finished after about 5.1/2 hours today with a nice General Service Coat Button with stand up shank at about 4-6 inches, rang up 79-80 using the General Program. The two flat buttons rang up 72-74-same as shot gun shells. The blob of melted lead rang up as 70-80 same as the GS Eagle Button. The surprise find of the day was a Regimental hat letter B at about 6 inches down in heavy iron. I almost didn’t dig it as it ID as 65 and figured it was another shot gun shell; was i pleasantly surprised. Ironically I dug a Regimental hat letter A 3 years ago in PA.The partial pewter spoon was also a surprise. Now where are the large cents and Spanish Silver! 🤣🤪😆 we’re going back next Saturday to see what wise we can find. Boy the Deus sure love the brass! Happy Deus Digging!

Nice finds! Hope to get out with mine Monday at a Civil War site down in Varina. I'm thinking of tweaking the Gen. program some.

Doesn't get much better than that for a madden hunt.

Hanover Digger-

I did lower the audio response from standard 4 to 3 and was digging all deeper targets. I’m still learning this machine with only 5.5 hours but am happy with the results thus far. The Regimental hat letter B I almost did not dig as it was surrounded by iron. Also the number although a squeaker was a 65 solid and I thought another blasted shot gun haull!🤣. The Deus sure love the brass.

I remember digging shotgun shells with a former detector and was ready to give up on another similar signal. Glad I dug it...turned out to be a Georgia State Seal button. So you never know unless you dig it! I may lower the audio response too along with the reactivity to see if I can squeak out a little more depth for Monday's hunt. I believe there are some deeper targets where we're going. Good luck hunting!
