So i took my m6 to Ohio with me this last weekend. When not in use i take the battery pack out. I put the pack in and no power. Took all the batteries out and put them back in and still no power. Took the pack out and removed batteries and took a knife and cleaned all the connections and finally got the machine turned on.

Yep . When whites went out of business I purchase a brand new m-6 and a brand a new Mxt all pro . Needless to say , they are sitting on the shelf , in the box still unused . Right now I’m concentrating on another model of detector that I’m trying to learn . But the m-6 was - is so easy to learn , and it’s deep enough for me , sometimes I wonder if it would be easier just to break out the m-6 and forget about all the settings and mambo jumbo of these new detectors. HH

That's how I feel about my Classic 3 SL. Turn on and go and let your ears decide. That machine hits deep without all the fancy bells and whistles.
That is too funny... about 5 years ago I wanted to metal detect with my then 16 year old son, he was like ..yeah dad buy some metal detectors and let's go detecting!
Well I read up on detectors, haggled prices, visited pawnshops and auctions and even drove to another state to get a smashing deal.
I ended up buying the MXT Pro for myself and the M-6 for my son, additionally I found a regular MXT deeply discounted so I picked it up as well.
I got an incredible deal on the total 3 units plus a pinpointer (all for about $675), needless to say, my kids interest wained after about 3 weeks and I didn't want to go out and miss time with him so I shelved the idea and sold all of the detectors.
I did make a descent profit on selling all three so not all was lost.
Now that he is a young man and in college I have decided to go out and detect again.
I picked up an old classic fisher CZ-5 for $120 and a Nokta Marko Gold Kruzer package for for $600. I am currently looking for a good PI unit.
I did like the whites m-6 though, the mxt's not so much.

I started hunting in 1973-79 with a Garrett Deepseeker ADS,stopped,started again in 2010 with the M-6,still using it and logged well over 6000 hours,I never had the desire to upgrade,find plenty with the M-6.
First silver for the year today.
