Well Folks, looks like I'm gonna bite the bullet. Garret has cut me yet another deal not to be turned down. So I will be ordering the Scorpion along with my new Sea Hunter as a companion detector for primarily land use.

Yes I wanted it for myself (you didn't hear that from me tho:biggrin:) but figured if I had a second detector I might be able to interest my wife in coming out and joining me. :twodetecting:

Couple evenings ago I gently asked her if she thought she might enjoy getting out to the beach ect. and get some exercise while doing some detecting and her reply was "yeah I guess I could give it a try, you could teach me with yours" she said. I explained that each detector has it's own little quirks and behaves differently than the next and ideally it would be best if she had her own. That way she could learn on just one machine and always have the same machine to use. :inlove:

To make a long story short, Garrett threw out the right numbers and I know if I don't take advantage of them that they won't be there the next time when I go to get that second unit so I'm just gonna bite the bullet now. Then the wife can give it a go and if she does not like it well then I still have two detectors to use. :clapping:

Now the tense days of wondering how she will react when the second machine is unwrapped along with the first one and she realizes that I bought not one but two detectors!:argue:

Good luck with that.:biggrin:My wife enjoys metal detecting and prospecting with me. It took me a while to drag her out to start doin' it, but now she drags me out to go detectin'.:cheekkiss:
Happy Hunting!:)

Now thats what I needed to hear!

Thanks Metalhead!

You could always plant a good find for her to get. But you didn't hear that from me! Good luck.

John

She stands a good chance of getting that first gold ring using the Scorp. I know men can't stand being wamped by their wives, however, cool heads need to prevail.

Well we are opposites in just about every way. Now that the kids are all grown up, we seem to be strugling to find things we both enjoy doing together so I hope this is the one. Thanks

bobbie and I detect all the time together bout the only time we dont detect together is when she is up in Michigan visiting family, we wish you guys the best of luck and let the hunts begin

Yeah before she was struck down with MS my wife was my tecting partner, fishing and hunting partner, prospecting partner, everything partner. She really misses tecting.

Bill

Teach I have 6 detectors one for every occasions:laugh:
Once you acquire two it gets easier to get more:clapping:cheers:::crazy:
I have an extra room if you need one:rofl:

my wife and I detect together all the time,,it is just not the same without her along,, she uses an ace 250 and I use both the gtp1350 and just recently bought a gti 1500,, have been looking very hard a scorp as well but have to sell more guns to able to afford that,, seems that I detect more than shoot these days so sounds like a good thing to spend the money on,, hope your wife loves it as much as mine does,,know all about the getting beat by the other half but I seem to get in front from time to time,,we have little comps like most coins ,,best coin,,highest money total,, and also the cool find award,, all fun and games until someone loses an eye realy but we do have alot of fun,, great way to unwind in the afternoon after work

cheers Whadda

Wish my hubby would join in! I can't seem to interest him in it, we are both retired now but he is too busy, doesn't have the time, etc. Yet he doesn't like me going out alone because he worries about me. Needless to say, it makes my detecting days few and far between. @#$%^&*!!!! (he may pick up a part time job, which will leave me free to spend my time as I want).:clapping:

You made a good point, oldranger, I ,might think seriously of "planting" something, and I don't mean flowers!

I know that feeling, I am also sweating the days after I ordered a new toy. Once when the ups guy rang the doorbell and my wife opened up, i heard her say ''AGAIN?'' The guys said ''well, its not my fault'' hehehe.

I have to see a long face for a few days but then it is okay again. But I have to admit, I am crazy a bit. I think it gives me that xmass feeling every time I open a box:laugh:

Good luck to you!

Eric.

Ain't that the truth. Can't wait to get the wrapping paper off. grin
