Lot of MD'ers on beach...ready to go home.

So I flew into the States 2 weeks ago and picked up my new MD and shaft...LOVE it! I've been staying at Flagler beach and worked my my from Daytona to St. Augustine...There are a lot of metal detector's in these areas....WOW this hobby has picked up around here. At the pier here I have seen 4 different people swinging around here at same time...every time I have been out there is someone else swinging a detector within site. I still had a good time. Took my nephew out to Daytona with me and he was using the Ace 250 we have had here at the beach house. The second target he got was .925, he was stoked and hooked after that. I was really surprised at the amount of people around metal detecting. I only have 4 other people on Grand Cayman metal detecting and I am the ONLY one going at it full time. I am so ready to get back home where there is no competition hehe. I have met some nice people out here though and everyone seemed to be open to talk about the beaches and there history. Learned a lot just about Flagler that I never knew. Anyway, there has been about 50 hours put on new excal and it finally sniffed out the gold last night, Mother's Day. I haven't seen gold for 2 months now. It's not much and it's broke??? how'd that happen? oh-well, I'll take it. I don't have to walk the distances that I have walked here, so I hooked up my scoop with a eye bolt and a 7 dollar tool clip from Lowes....worked great. added a couple of hours to my hunt everyday. I leave Friday, so there is still time for some more, plus the wind and waves have picked up here Sunday and today, maybe that will help a little...

Later,
Southernstyle

Ps. Forgot, I still got to ride my bike a little and see my family, so even with no gold, it would have still been a great trip.

Yes there are many people detecting . Seeing four people at the pier area is not unusual. I saw this guy last year at Daytona Beach
