actually, friends of mine had trouble at these parks a year ago. they were harrassed and threatened by gangbangers and the homeless, but we've been going lately for a few weeks in a row and have had no problems whatsoever. on our first trip out there, my plan was to get there at 630 am and stay until 10 am LATEST. it turned out to be so mellow that we stayed all day. that's not to say that we shouldn't keep our eyes open and be alert to the possibility that a problem could arise at any time...

I always carry no matter where I hunt. Pennsylvania and at least 38 other states have right to carry laws. Find out if yours does and if it has a right to carry law get a gun and a carry permit. I hunt city parks and never worry.
 
It's almost impossible to get a CCW permit in LA or Orange county. If you go to Northern California, many rural counties hand them out quite freely.
