looking for Tips .. getting depth and such

Looking for General Tips for making adjustments.
I read a lot about Rx and Tx and the like.
The last detector I had was a Bounty Hunter Land Star in Combo with Whites Classic SL.
Not a lot of fine tuning in those two machines...

Can some one give me a few tips on how to increase depth a bit?
Give me some schooling on where to start playing with these adjustments and what they do?

My soil in this area is pretty stable. is it Mineralized ? I don't think so, just good rich BLACK dirt in my area.
If I go 10 miles east or west of me I got Clay.
But for the most part just good ol' Black dirt that has never caused any issues with any of the detectors I previously owned.

Love my V3 and like to study.

Thanks in Advance.

Start your basic sensitivity adjustments high (Read the heck out of past posts to get an idea od starting points.) and back down to stability. I hear folks say that the adjustments have to be set to full stability and I find that that is best but.... a little "chatter" in all the info can be dealt with and have found stuff that I'd missed. (I dont hunt like that much but...sure helps to learn this a little as there will be places that just don't want to cooperate with "stability".)

Sounds like good type of soil for you. If so, stick with factory adjustments for a bit and then start tweaking. The manuals and online video from Whites are a huge help and keep it all accessable for frequent study. The V3 is sensible and straight forward to learn. Takes time but is worth it. Still learning tons myself.

Pure depth is not always the best way to go, at least for me anyway. One of the deepest programs is the Deep Silver, single frequency, high recovery delay and a lower filter, (5 Hz Band pass). I prefer the Hi Pro program with three frequency best data for sensitivity from the smallest gold to the biggest silver. This is what is so nice with the V3, is it can be set to match just about anyones detecting needs in just about any kind of ground.

Read, read, read, and start detecting. Make small adjustments one at a time to avoid too much all at once.

Learned a lot... can't wait to try out the things I learned

Thanks
