I bought the delux, which does have the wheel on top and detects from the side....As for the othe models, I don't know.

I have been using the Sherlock DTS-Pro for the pass few months it's adjustable and a night light.It works in a range from 1/2" to almost 2". I really enjoy this
unit. Just food for thought.

The Tinytec is an utter piece of crap. Shoddy workmanship. My Bounty Hunter works great. Don't waste your money on the Tinytec.
