Looking for a good coin detector for Grand Kid

Grand kid just out of school needs a plain jane good coin detector.Can you tell me of an excellent coin finding detector and is simple to operate.Must be in good shape looks does not matter.Can only afford $150.There are so many models so whats a good deep coin simple detector?Thank you cjm.---glock17@suddenlink.net

Not

Not going to happen as most of the more dated models can't do it, and some newer models are going to cost more. I would quickly pass on the older Garrett models you ask about, and similar comparisons as well.

Yes, I am in Farr West Utah and enjoy being 'home... but to be honest, I do kind of miss small town Clyde Texas.

Tesoro's and my thoughts: The Compadre can be OK, however I have acquired or checked out some Companies that were really messed up and didn't work well. Peopke open them up thinking they can improve performance but really mess them as there are three adjustable trimmers for GB, Srnsitovity and something else. They tinker with all three and the unit is way out of whack. I will not own another Compadre. I nought two new as a dealer that worked for three of my six kids and they worked. However the bettet option was a model with better control and interchangeable coils.

One of them got a Silver Sabre microMAX and the other two got the Dilver microMAX. If you want a 'simple' Tesoro I would suggest one of those two models.

I think that finding a good coin detector that will cost under $150 will be quite difficult. So I recommend you increase your budget to $200, then you will definitely be able to find a good coin detector. It is very good that your child has a hobby, as it is important that the child is interested in something to do. I know a lot about parenting, thanks to https://fosterplus.org. Children should have a hobby because, without it, they will stagnate.

Hopefully you can find one that will fond the coins and rings. A lot of kids that age lose interest in things quickly unless they find not only current coins but occasional older coins, jewelry, game tokens, and Hot Wheels type toys. Remember, anything from the 70s is ancient to them!!!

Been able to do much detecting out there ?
And Clyde looks rich in history.

Yes. My 14 yr old grandson losses interest quickly.
Darn telephones and video games.
Hard to get him out of the house sometimes.
I've taken some of my silver and seeded the yard.
That works good for awhile.

Any one of these are simple and pretty effective at "hooking" a detectorist on the sport. The Ace and F2 sure hooked me! And if you grandson looses interest, you won't lose much. Really, they are still fun to use.

A solid nickel signal.
Pulled my first gold, platinum highlights earring.
With Ruby stone.
Probably came out of mom's jewerly box.
