Two hour hunts are all I can manage so far this year. I have made it out four days in a row. Maybe my mind is right. Went back to yesterdays spot. It was a lot cooler and cloudier today. Still a nice day.
Here's the clad and othe junk. One wheat cent.

Here's my lucky dig of the day. Found as I was walking back to my truck. 1839 large cent. The details are OK. The date has a lot of corrosion around it. I don't want to do to much to it. Those old coppers can't take much cleaning. Lucky find! It was only 3 inches deep. I kept at it in that area for another 20 minutes or so. More clad.

Every spring we get a lot of new hunters coming around here. Here is a sample of how much trash I normally dig on a hunt. (Somebody usually asks.) There are 33 targets in that pile. Also to show that I am not a cheapskate I used a nice clean paper towel to display my junk. Same old paper towel under the clad.
