Long-Handled Sand Scoop Question

Here is a picture of my new scoop.... The Diamond head, pretty solid I think

Have a nice day. Jens.

Myself..I love wooden handles especially in rough waters. I have three scoops that I use regularly depending on where I'm hunting or travelling to. My problems is, the stronger the scoop the more I think it will move stuff. W&D

I have gone to the wood handle scoops too. I like the profile of the scoop in the 2nd photo Steve uploaded (kaptainkosmic) and the ebay scoop in sand/gravel/clay/mud matrix found in the Northwest. The low profile is much easier to land a target in then the angle profile on the Diamond Head, for me any way. I am selling my Diamond Head.

Best Regards,
Steve

Its made by this guy http://www.gsmservice.od.ua/stavr/index.html and I put the handle on myself.
The sifting is very fast with hexagonal holes.

Hi Gerrit,

Those are nice scoops, a fellow forum person has one here in Washington and loves it. I will buy one one of these days. They are light weight and drain like a dream. I hear you can get different size holes in them. So I take it that you are happy with it? Have fun!

Best regards,
Steve

I'm strictly a wet sand hunter. I've had the Babb's scoop, shown below for 3 years. I can strongly recommend it, but not in the 2 piece version. The screw holes don't hold and will strip after just a short while. I sent it back to Bill, he modified it to make it 4 screws to keep it together instead of just the 2 it came with, and they all 4 ended up stripped. I've since had it welded to make it a 1 piecer. As a one piece scoop there's nothing better in my opinion.

Heavy Duty "T" Travel Beach Scoop - Only 4.2 lbs. All aluminum and 48" overall length, broken down length is 24". Basket is 11" long, 6" diameter with 9/16" holes.
#6HDTTBS - $140.95
