I went hunting yesterday and I was evident that my usful little addition that I have made to my Explorer XS hepls a lot when you wnat to disengage "PINPOINT" without actually looking at the control panel.
I have the clear cover from Minlebs but I think that even the Sunray control box cover will do the same trick. If you are not too "detector proud" then it will even work if you do this to the bare control panel screen.
Take a tube of silicone and cut the nozzle to dispense a "nodule' about the diameter size of the actuall "PINPOINT" button and extrude the silicone so that it gives you a "raised" button either super imposed on the clear screen of the contol box cover or directly onto the conrol box "PINPOINT button. Silicone will come off if forced with the minimum of fuss should the need arise, with out causing very little residue, yet if you use this nodule as a button it will work like that for a long time.
Let it dry, of course and there you have it.
Next time you put Explorer down and forget to dis-engage "PINPOINT", just reach around and feel for the raised nodule and press. No need to pick or look around to the control panel. All done by sense of touch.
This addition of raised "nodule" buttons can work for all the other buttons as well, but it seems that the "PINPOINT" one needs it most, especially if you are into hitting that "NIOSE CANCEL'" button accidently as often as I do.
