Locating Meteors

Buddy555 said:
Greetings Fellow Searchers:

My name is Bill and I have been occasionally coin shooting since the early '70's. I have used Whites and Fishers. Now that I am older and hopefully wiser, I'd like to become a Meteor Man. Who has any knowledge or experience with the subject and can suggest the best device for the money to locate them?

Thanks,
Bill

For the money you couldn't go wrong wiith the MXT or the MXT 300 As far as where to find meteorites they are where they landed!

Hi Buddy,

Actually, many of the meteorites found were not found where they landed but were found were they were placed when removed from the fields before planting. Many serious meteorite hunters will hunt along fence lines knowing that any rock found in a field will usually be tossed aside along the fence. Since some of those rocks will be meteorites, it is not that uncommon for them to be found this way.

So, they may be found where they landed, or they may be found where they were put. At least, it is something to keep in mind when searching areas.

Hi Bill, for the $ you can't go wrong with an MXT or the MXT 300 I use an M6 which would also be good. After you get tired hunting meteorites you'll still have an excellent MD for everything else.
Good luck John
