Little hunted spot yields 2 gold rings

Dig

Active member
Hey Everyone! I went out tonight with a buddy of mine and did some hunting. Kind of on a lark we went to an area that gets lots of traffic yet no one hunts it for all the junk. Through all the pop tops and crusty coins I managed to pull these two small rings out. The larger signet style ring is 14k and the thin band is 10k. I found both by going very slowly and doing comparison sounds between disc and pinpoint with an Excal II 10". Both rings came from a few inches over waist deep. I was almosy sure we were gonna pull trash all night but, it just shows it pays to try something new...

Nice looking color gold! WTGDIG

Nice rings Dig, I need to get t a different beach myself, the surfers loose rings but in 20ft of water. Way to go on the rings, Gene

Now why cant i have that happen to me in my never hunted spot. At least im making a killing on the silver though haha

Hi Dig,

How many Hunters really go slow enough? You just provided in this post beautiful proof that "slow can produce" small gold.

I have witnessed Hunters moving so fast that they almost leave wakes behind and by slowly following in their tracks recovered gold that they should have found!

It's not how much ground that gets covered, it's how well even a small area gets covered.

Words to the wise!!

GL&HH Fellow Hunters,

CJ

Nice to see some good stuff from you. Hope all is well and you find amny more. Had to miss today will hit tomorrow though. Talk with you later.

I was hunting with Dig and all I got was pull tabs and a few coins. This place has literally thousands of old ring-style pull tabs. One was an original tab-style from the early 1960s. It's amazing that he was able to pull those two gold rings out of that place. I think it's more skill than luck in that type of situation.

never know whats in the trash.
good job on pulling out those gold rings.
Going slow is definatly a good way to score Gold and silver rings.
