The East coast may get a storm and that means strong currents will be moving the sand,
Anyone hunting the water in these conditions needs to wear a PDF of some kind even if
they are only knee deep. All it takes is one bad step under these conditions to create a
life threatening situation, SOS brand PDFs are very good, give them a look.
HH but be safe while doing it

We ought to do that kind of reminder for each other and encourage all the serious water hunters to do the PDF thing. If a few began setting the example, others would follow. jim

Try any large sporting goods store, boating supply store, marine supply store etc.
The model I have is 24MSPT-1 by SOSpenders there catalog number 1217.

Guys, I have a PDF device that I wear regularly, mine is a simple Kayaking life vest. It has open sides for paddling, in my case swinging the metal detector, is light weight, I don't have to worry about having to deploy it. .
I am a none swimmer that for a long time did not wear a PDF until...........I stepped off of a corral ledge into water about 8 ft. deep with all my gear ie. excal, scoop etc. I started to do the bobbing to the surface and was get my breathing out of sink ie. breathing in under water and breathing
out above the surface.
What saved me was believe it or not, I had just bought a long handled heavy duty Nuttall Scoop, I pushed off from the bottom with. I bobbed to the surface just as a wave caught me and threw me back on the upper corral ledge I had just stepped off of. I never went back into the water again until I had a life vest, this way I can at least float to the surface if in trouble.
