Not in my mind. I know of lots of people bothered by headphones for even short periods. Also, I like to hear what they're hearing when trying to teach them the detector. You can hear the pinpointing VCO tone on my M6 two blocks away!
 
Thanks to everyone for their opinions and recommendations.

I think I'm going to go with the Simplex. I already have experience with Nokta/Makro build quality and customer service so I don't think I can really go wrong.
