Length of time as a TH'r

Got a White's Coinmaster 1 DB for Christmas 1978 when I was 12 years old, been hunting ever since. Don't remember my first coin because I found several coin spills there were a lot of modern pennies in the front yard, later learned Dad had seeded the front yard with 2 rolls of pennies. He didn't plant anything in the back yard, got my first silver coins and wheats there. 2 silver war nickels, and a few weeks later crawling in the mud under my high school football stadium seats a 1945 silver quarter and lots of clad coins!
I started bottle digging at age 10.

Currently have 5 detectors, Fisher: F75, 1236-X, CZ-20, Troy Shadow X5, and Tesoro Tejon.

I have been hunting for almost 25 years....I am 37 now. My first detector was this old BFO Garrett Master Hunter (pictured...and I still have it) that I payed $12.00 for at a pawnshop lol. But boy was I happy to have it! I dug everything....my first good find (for a 12 year old!) was an Eisenhower dollar in our front yard. Been at it ever since....went through another Garrett machine, Whites Coinmaster, Tesoros, and I finally bought a Sovereign XS when they came out and I have used different versions of the Sovereign for the last 13 years or so before finally getting an E-Trac this Christmas.

Always wanted one when I was a kid and never got one. Bought one for my husband for our 25th anniversary because he too said he always wanted one and never got one. He's used it once in 6 mos. so I took it over!! I was serious about wanting one, apparently he wasn't. I went out detecting for the first time yesterday because it was freakishly warm and hit 55F. Today was back to normal, 25F, so chalk me down for 1 DAY, LOL! I can't wait for Spring!!! I bought him a BH IV, but now wish I bought him an Ace 250 :/

Good for you auggie & welcome to this great hobby!----There has been "tons" of good targets found with BH's, the very main thing is being out there & enjoying yourself.---Be nice if you can get your husband interested in the hobby also.---Maybe he will if he can start finding some interesting targets.-----My wife & I both detect together (and have for years)--just having "a blast".------Wishing you the best & God Bless, Del & Patsy
