Mama threw me outta the house for awhile so whats a fella to do? Guess!
Went back up to an area on the campus that I’ve hit before. Scored a couple firsts there but time to see if I missed anything. Started out in Park mode, M1, Sens quiet at 26, everything in default mode. Decided to make a zigzag run and see how close to the dreaded EMI zone I could get. Actually did better in that regard than I expected. After about 45 minutes of nothing I crossed over to where I found a Barber dime and a stellar Indian Head last year, a Merc and several wheats as well. I felt pretty good at that time that I had cleared it out pretty good. I knew jkline had pulled some keepers there as well as there is an EMI zone there that plagues us both.

I just started to move forward when it started cackling so figured I would just go ahead and go to 4khz and see what happens, pure quiet! Up Sens to 30 and reground balanced (yes Elmy I did what you said and there is a difference!). I dont think I took 10 steps when I started getting repeatable 54-55 signals. I say signals because when I shifted 90 degrees the hits appeared slightly off. I made a full 360 and they were consistent so lets dig! I was kinda expecting a quarter or a maybe a half dollar (yes its ok to dream). Depth was showing max and pinpoint was a bit jumpy but centered. So I dug a full blade length in and pushed the Garrett down the hole, solid vibration so took the hand trowel and dug another couple inches down, I immediately saw thick silver. Reached down with gloved hand and pulled out the loose dirt and saw two silver dimes stuck together! Both were Barbers!!!!!! Pulled them apart gently and could make out 1900 on the one but the other was dirty. Pushed the Garrett in just to check and holy moly its still vibrating!! Pulled some more dirt out and two more Barbers join the party!!!! I just found a turn of the last century coin spill at 8” deep, speechless.
Text jkline just so I could see the now glorious “you rat bastard” return, boy did that make me smile!!!!
I continued on in that area for a total of almost three more hours. Seven kinda deep zincolns and a clad quarter. Only other good find was an 1891 Indian Head at 5-6”. Then the detector went dead but I expected that.
We both have been over this area numerous times and no answer to why we both missed this, I suspect the EMI and reduced Sens for me was the culprit.
1900 no mint mark, 1907S, 1909D, and 1911S.
Im keeping this Legend!!

Man -O- Man thats outstanding.. 4 barbers in one hole.. SHAZAMMM !! Hey Ron, when u say campus are you talking college campus ?? What a great place to try... I'm thinking it wouldn't be allowed on our local college which date back to 1900.. think of the possibilities..

University of Idaho. I approached Facilities Maintenance and were given guidelines as to what and what not is allowed. Once they know you’re not using a contractors shovel they feel pretty good about what you are doing. All you can do is ask!

Ronstar, you are sure full of surprises! Congrats on the barbers and the Indian.

You had the greatest chance ever at answering that question on the target that was the barber spill. An area that has been hit a gazillion times before , how did you hit it and why should have been on your mind the instant you hit a diggable target there. It is not going to be in any manual.....experience is your greatest teacher.
I will leave you alone now.

Wrinkles, more wrinkles. You be lucky I’m not a gal, have to slap you via some meme…..😂😂😂

Incredible Barber coin spill!!! I need my wife to kick me out 😂😂🤣
