Hi all. Even though I'm 53, I've been sort of metal detecting most of my life. With my dad ad a youngster in oklahoma. I live in north georgia currently, and was wondering where I'm allowed to hunt legally. I really want to get serious, but can't find anywhere to go.
Thank y'all. Happy hunting.

A lot of times you can look up a local town check and see we have a few towns in Ct that do not allow it but thats town property not private land

First and foremost never assume if its public property its allowable. The worst any agency or person can say is No, the best, is Yes. Cant tell you how many stops Ive made and been told No, most were polite but some not. Sometimes, I can talk my way into at minimum a demonstration in an out of the way corner and once they see you are not using a construction excavator they say “well ok” and maybe they stay and watch. At least Im detecting…..
I had business cards made up with my contact info and on the back side a little bit about me. I always leave a card and tell them “someday you will lose or drop something metal and feel free to call”. Thats paid off a couple times!

My understanding is there's lots of abandoned mines in northern Georgia.

I use the Regrid app for owner information.
I just have a cheap myogisen from Amazon. If I have success, I'll buy a better one. Thanks for the link.
