Nice.
That's more than I get Inna year around here.
Congratulations.

Incredible finds Mark! Congratulations on your 1st shield nickel !!

Thanks everyone persistence and taking my time I believe is key and location helps a lot to I can’t believe it’s taking me 6 years to find a shield nickel!! I’ve found a few 2 cent pieces which always fool me thinking it’s a shield.

Nice.
That's more than I get Inna year around here.
Congratulations.
70-80's.
More people swinging detectors than kids on bikes.
Today it's the rare untouched late 1700's-1800'$ homes.
Usually after finally leaving the families hands.
I would Love to work the Hungarian,German, Irish, Italian and Swish neighborhoods of cleverland.
Need an armed escort now a days.
Gang land. Hate to see those beautiful properties rotting into the ground.
You know there's goodies there.
Just working in town.
Picking up our cones.
Found half of a Rolex band. Solid gold.
Every winter walk along the edges of the projects parking lots. Where the snow piles melt out. Early weekday mornings only.
Always hoops, bracelets and earrings.
Don't even need to swing your thingy.
Man what goes on in those parking lots at night.
Gotta love those bangers loose with the cash.
And they Love to display it.

Excellent finds Mark! On your shield nickel, I think that it is either an 1882 or 1883. The first year of mintage of that series was 1866. Congratulations on those finds! Best of luck and...

Again, Mark, those are some great finds. Keep those good finds coming! I'm slowing down on my detecting - I'm on peritoneal dialysis and my long time detecting buddy, Kenneth, passed away recently. I did post a tribute to him on the Christian Detecting Forum , if you would like to read it:

Continued sucsess and...
