Large Copper, Disappointment, and some Bees

What is a "jumping cactus"? That's a new one for me..
They have tarantulas up in Oklahoma. You see them the
most crossing roads.. You'll be driving along and see a little
brown blob with legs scooting across the road. Some are
pretty big. Both OK and TX have scorpions. I see em up
in OK. Usually the brown clearish looking "bark" scorpions.
Also a lot of black widows up there. They are usually hiding in
dark places though. Storm cellars, barns, etc..
The black widows venom is supposed to be about 10-20
times stronger than a rattlesnake ounce for ounce..

Get a load of this... I was up there on Sept 1.. 6 weeks ago..
I saw a black panther jaguar up there about a mile from
my property. I wasn't exactly sure what he was until I got
back and looked at all the pictures.
If you look up "black panther jaguar" on wikipedia, the 2nd
lower picture looks exactly like the one I saw.

They are supposed to be fairly rare, but I know what I saw,
and it was a black panther jaguar. You should have seen it
run. Big long smooth strides.. Looked like something out
of Africa..
I'm going back up there at about the end of the month.
I'm going to ask around and see if anyone else has seen
that thing. It could be kind of dangerous if it came across
pets or small children.. Heck... They are capable of taking
down and killing an adult if they had the mind too... :(
But I kinda doubt they would go that far unless they couldn't
find any food. The one I saw seemed pretty afraid of me
in my car, and wasted no time running into the woods.
But I have to wonder what he might have done if I was
alone walking along that road, and he was looking for a
meal. :/ That was the first big cat I've ever come across
that wasn't in a zoo.
