1970 Plymouth Superbird. When is the last time you have seen one driving around. A friend of mine bought one when he got out of basic training in 1969. He drove it for 400 miles and got shipped to Vietnam. He was killed there in December. His Mom kept the car in the carport till 2001 when she sold the house. The car was never driven at all. Infact she never even opened the doors!!! This was in Florida and the moisture rusted it REAL BAD!!! I talked to her several times and she always said the car is not for sale. I have no idea where the bird is now. It was one with the 383 motor. I would want one with the 426 HEMI!!!

Must be a very rare car. I remember them but don't remember when the last time I saw one was.

Just for the record, in 1970 USDOT put the '67 Corvair thru every test Nader claimed he put it thru. It passed 'em all with flying colors. The '67 Corvair, the car Nader claimed was ''unsafe at any speed,' was actually one of the safest cars on the American road. Of course, Nader being the darling of the ultra-left-wing media in this country--which was the only media we had prior to Fox News--the media never reported on the USDOT tests. It wouldn't have been 'politically correct' to do so.

I have trouble understanding the fascination with the Edsel. That was one of the ugliest cars ever built. When it came out we called it 'an Oldsmobile sucking a lemon.'
