Ok everyone I said I won't do this again ,but lets see what happens.!!Garrett Infinium LS is one of the best detectors for AZ.I have been to Rich Hill with mind I also hunt the Salt river.depending on which coil you use ( I have all of them ) you can find the backs of post earing, small nuggets as deep as 6 to 8 inches. I have dug rings as deep as 26 inches in FL.. I live in Fl. and visit my Mother-in - law who lives in Phoenix.between Bell and union hill about a block off Cave creek. The only other thinkabout the Infinium LS is bring your Passport because the Infinium go's DEEP,DEEP,DEEP.

Hi junklord , I did my 1st. trip with Infinium Jan & Feb. (5weeks) used the 10" x 14" mono soley. 2nd of my field LS experience - had to abandon a 40sum" Good target thru the Red & white (bummed - maybe i can get back to it before Disc.:( the weather got very snotty and headed to Ariz. 4 weeks. Gold Basin, Wickenburg and Quartzite. Nothing at gold basin 4 me but bullets , few meteorites at a few locations. near Wickenburg , quartz vein with some % of Gold in it - 6" x 4' long. small turqouise near Vulture (eyeballs only) It ignored some high grade hematite almost completely that the Lobo would scream at in a gulch. but, Yes I concur ~ my infinium goes deep as well & believe it to be superb choice for my $ . P-62 , U get your New Baby Yet?

Yeah, it got here and the headphones were not working properly. So I ordered the blue headphones, was not sure if I was on the right frequency because of the headphones. But I also noticed when I went across green vegetation it would scream at me,so I decided to go ahead and order the 10x14 and 8 inch mono coils. When they get here I will get back out there and see if it was just the headphones or both headphones and the coils. Getting ready to go spend a week on the beach in california so it is definitely making the trip. But I am sure I will get the stuff and get to get out and check it out before the beach trip.

P 62 ~ the Pre-set factory (Default) Frequency should be compatible with the stock black phones(dont care 2 much 4 either) . but the green vegetation thing is not within any experience of mine . Something is wierd with the whole scenario , hope You get it figured out. Ken

Why do you think the Headphones are faulty?

Was the detector ground balanced correctly? Was the HP connector connected secuerly and correctly? Did you check the batteries were fully charged and gave 4 beeps on the battery test?

What exactly was the detector doing to make you think that the HPs were faulty?
If the detector is actually noisy over grass (very strange) the fault is much more likely to be the coil.

Because when the cord for the headphones was bumped or moved around it would cut out or work better sometimes. I took to a metal detecting store and they had a new pair of stock headphones and you could notice the difference between the new pair and my pair. The battery were new they were lithium but they only beeped three times. So because the headphones were not working it affected setting the frequency and ground balancing.

I agree with F~Ghost that the falsing (i would think) would be Coil, Cable , Connection or hope Not - unit Problem (that wood sukq) especially if it ran off a future Infinium user . I would just have them fix it -Infinium detects too well for me to abandon, ever.

Hello Ken, My new headphones came in and my coils. So I mounted the control box on my hip,put the new headphones on,and put the 8 inch mono on. Took it out into the back yard thinking interference would be a problem,no interference at all. So I ground balanced it and boy had no problem finding nails and screws in the yard. So I brought it in the house and got some gold, and some coins, and some iron pieces. It picked everything up and the reverse discrimination worked. The iron pieces the signal was still there. The quarter was a faiter signal. The gold the signal went away. Sounds like everything is working just fine.

Have not had the chance to check out the DD coils yet nor the 10x14 mono. My friend is taking me out to a great gold field here in Arizona and we is gonna go look for some nuggets friday. Then sunday we are off to the beach. Thanks for all the help guys,I already like it better then the GMT.
