Just purchased Garret Ace 250 after being told to try....

There are many reasons why a target will disappear. Most likely, there was a hunk of rusty iron who's signal changed when you moved the dirt. Could be you pushed the target deeper or even flipped it out of the hole. You will do this less and less as you gain experience. It used to happen to me all the time and I bet in the past two years I've only had 3 or 4 of these types of signals. Practice, practice, practice.

Good luck.

Stix, you may be pleasantly surprised at what's laying out in that woods unless you know for sure that there has been no activity there for the last 300 years. Give it a shot and let us know what you find.

Reading and watching. Lots to learn. I will definitely post up what I find. Just wanting to become more confident in my abilities heh

Those are most likely old grave stones. They buried folks anywhere in the old days, especially along the old wagon trails. They didn't have time or equipment to get fancy.

Well I am very new to this bit just got permission to go onto a old girlscout camp from long ago. Land is 265 acres of trails and old rotting outhouses and buildings.

The place is very secluded and should turn up interesting results. Best part its 1\4 down the road from me!!

Just wish I was better at this than I am. Should be good practice.

My wife gave me A Wal-Mart deacor for my birthday three yrs. Ago, Had fun! But when I got started into this Hobey and did the research. I started looking for A dector that would fill in the holes that my Wal-Mart dector could not fill! I ordered The Ace 250. I have one year with it and I'm still learning how to read the sounds and the screen. And enjoying every bit of it. I would just like to have more time to hunt!:detecting:
