I woke up early this morning, grabbed a coffee and went out to the patio to enjoy my java and the view of a perfectly calm ocean. No wind and no waves, just the longtails courting and a small fishing boat headed out to Challenger Bank.

A perfect day to go treasure hunting at Horseshoe Bay, so I loaded up the jeep and headed down to catch the late morning, low tide. This is what it looked like from the bluff overlooking Horseshoe Bay an hour before low tide.

Just a light swell and no surf at all, perfect conditions to max out the Whites Dually and listen for whispers. The sand has slowly crept in since the gales of winter died a fortnight ago, so to get the loot it is a matter of max power and max penetration. I had a great hunt, lots of people walking the beach, longtails courting overhead and 3 nice gold rings in the scoop at the end of 3 hours.
From left to right: 14k band, 10k opal ring, 10k ring with a bit of sparkle

In conditions like this you have to really slow things down and focus on the prime loot areas. A bit of junk, a few bucks in clad and 3 Gold - I'll call it a Bermudaful Day.

Cheers All,
