January Finds

believe it or not, but I was able to get 4 hours of detecting in early January in upstate New York. We had a few days of low 40's temp's and the snow had just about melted away. I went to a park that I usually hunt once a week because of its large size. I was using my 5.3 coil on Magic's settings on the Coin mode. I have hunted the area quite a few times in the summer, but this time I was working much slower than I usually would and digging anything that showed a hint of green in the pinpoint setting. I was able to get a couple silver Rosie's and some more Wheaties. God, am I going crazy on the weekends, I just about cleaned all my clad from this summer ($156.32), and I have looked for errors on all may pennies in the Red Book.I"m running out of things to do, any suggestions on a new coil I should try for Coin hunting? The Nickel is a bit off center, note the double rim on the right side. Thanks for looking. Ron in Henrietta NY

You are so lucky to have gotten out, I don't have much snow but the ground is frozen to about 6 inches.

I live in the south and rarely see snow, but rains for days at times. Down time is spent reading - researching - reviewing and bench testing - experimenting with my tector...... and spending time on the forums. Glad you were able to get out for awhile! GL and HH

Sweet finds Ron. That nickel does have double rim doesnt it. Anyway, congrats on the silver and others. Magics program is all I use any more, great, great program. How was the depth with that 5.3?

There is a large park close to where I work and I too do the same thing as you. Still find silver and other items on occasion. Was doing so with the DFX last year, hope to improve on those finds with the V3i and MAGICS program.

Way to go again Ron:clapping:

Nice finds Ron. I managed to dig up a couple of Mercs New Years day but haven't been out since. Looks like we're in for another blast of winter this week so I guess it will be awhile before the grass shows itself again.

MANDAD don`t know what Detector you Like to use??? But i Like Whites Units iv used them for a long time, I use a V3i
But in the rain i use a Garrett AT Pro i just got and it sounds Like a Whites???? Cozz im not taking my V3i in the Rain,
If you get a lot of Rain you might think on a AT-Pro its Waterproof Down to 10' and good for in the Rain, Mickfin

Nice Finds! Congratulations!!!
