It's TRUE!! First find with the "new" X-70!

I was using the stock coil that came on it(9"?). I have the 6" 18.75, but I probably won't use that one much. Went out again this morning and found a junk ring and about 1.50 in clad.

Do Not overlook the 6" DD 18.75kHz coil. For hunting where there is a lot of trash it is deadly. Cover a trashy area with the stock coil and then go back over it with the small coil. Usually you can run the sensitivity higher and reach down to the 7-8 inch mark depending on target size. But swing slowly as targets go zipping past very quickly.

Thanks, BB. The guy that sold me this machine has told me how good that small coil is, but I guess after finding that ring with the stock coil, I've been reluctant to take it off.... I do have a few trashy Civil War camp sites that I really want to check with the small coil. I will be trying it very soon. Thanks again!!

Nice first day out.....

Great find! It just goes to show you that we need to dig those low ID signals. Keep it up and the xterra WILL reward you over and over!

It is always nice to find great finds like this one when u get a new used toy!!! Congrats!

Thank y'all again! I haven't been on here in a few days. Did a little low water digging this morning, but finds are scarce. Always manage to find some change, if nothing else. I'm gonna "lay low" until I get the urge to hit a CW camp or two. I'm a little "played-out" from today's "twice as hard, half as much" digging.:surrender:
