It's TRUE!! First find with the "new" X-70!

I got my used X-70 yesterday, and couldn't wait to try it out this morning, so I went to a place that I have hunted hard for 30 years, and really hit hard this summer. There were NO signals, and I realized how good I had covered it prior to today. Then, I found 3 beer cans at over a foot deep, and hadn't detected them before. I kept going, no coins, pulltabs, hair pins, foil, NOTHING. Almost ready to give up, when I got a nice tone showing a value of only 8, at 4" deep. Gold with diamonds!! Can't make out if it's 10 or 14k, but I'm happy. I "bonded" with the 70, and my arthritis isn't killing me from swinging it. Thanks to y'all for the tips on setting this thing up!!!

Thank y'all again! This morning wasn't like yesterday, of course. I did find a few clad coins, pulltabs, and a toy metal car. I'm able to run the sens. at 20-22 without falsing or chatter. That thing goes deep!

Wow. Nice ring! I just got my X-70 a couple weeks ago and I am still learning it. I was using at a fresh water beach a few days ago and had some signals that were around 8 also. I didn't dig them because I thought they were too low. Well, I better go and check out those signals again. I am really liking this detector though. Delano1981

Yep. You ought to hit that place again. Gold reads kinda low on most machines unless it's like a class ring or something large.
