Some of you may remember me... the old clad king..lol... well I just took 13years off... and I am starting back in March... Near retirement...(1-2 years) so I thought I would start back up in March...at a slower pace...

I still have my coin master 6000 di, my dfx and my explorer se which I was still learning when all that clad finally burned me out... Stopped in another forum and it seems the Equinox is the main detector like the explorer used to be... Unless I see a super deal...I am watching quite a few places.. will start back up with the dfx and explorer in March...

Already started reading some of the posts nice work everyone...thinking of selling some of my finds for the Equinox... just started cleaning my left over clad from 13 years ago! The tumbler needed a belt and its spinning...

Thinking the 600, but I do like to make programs as I did with the dfx... who knows what I did with them...lol... so thinking about the 800 too...
any thoughts on this...600 might be right for me just because I will not be looking for nuggets...

I remember you. I started here the previous year that you did. A few less spots available and silver finds mean a bit more work, other then multi frequency coming along and a few less U S companies around, not a whole lot has changed. Welcome back! HH jim tn

Thank you and happy b-day in advance

Welcome back Greg.
I to am coming back after injuries years ago.
Just getting back on my feet and wanting to try detecting again.
Sadly I forgot my password. New phones. New email. Can't reset pword.
So I'm a newby Again. LoL

Personally
I would double down on the 800.
I like making programs as well on my old Explorer XS.
I do notown the 800 Yet.
As the money comes along I'll get one.

The 800 from all I've read and watched.
Is very good on small gold and silver.
Such as jewelry,, earrings, etc
There have to be hundreds at beaches.
Hardly ever find them. Actually only found a few over to many years.

That's my reason for getting it and a small Nel or Detect coil.
Good Luck
Hope to read many of your adventures and finds.

Is the explorer getting too heavy....is this your main reason for wanting the nox?
I don't know you either but its always good to see people coming back after such a long lay off.
All the best.
Well I am near 60 now...and I just never took the time to learn the SE properly.. over 10 years ago. I started hitting deep silver just before I stopped... no doubt deeper.... I was swinging fast digging LOTS of clad... and I just burned myself out... Coming back at a slower pace... I was so addicted I was detecting almost daily and just about anywhere... Keeping the SE most likely...and the dfx...which is great from 1 to 4 inches...

I use a home made harness... which helps I made it and posted here years ago n my posts some where...starting back up in March...just the fascination with the Equinox from what I reading...incredible machine but seems to also have better quality control...in general...

I'm in my 60's now
Moving a bit slower. Mostly from the injuries.
Very fortunate you were able to get back.
Sadly I can't access my old emails.
I no longer have an account with that phone company.

Like you I'm not happy with Minelabs quality as of late.
I'm hoping they'll come out with an 1100 model.
Loaded with more options and much stronger build quality. If they'd just make the materials thicker.
Like 100 segment discrimination
And better iron discrimination.
And the ability to mix an match any frequencies in any mode.
Actually looking at the Nokta Lenged.
. Maybe the final release will have those options.
And cheaper.
Welp take care
See ya down the road.

I'm sort of thinking along the same lines as you....i'm "only" 52 lol but i swing an etrac for long beach hunting sessions and its getting a bit much.Problem is,i know how good the etrac is at the beach and i'm reluctant to give it up,i know all the reviews rave about the nox at the beach but "seeing is believing" and "better the devil you know" spring to mind lol.
I met an old guy at the beach the other day using a vanquish which isnt much lighter than the nox and it was incredible to swing.......no weight at all,so the nox is definately a tempting machine. If they have as good a performance as an se or etrac its really a no brainer.

Welcome back Gregg! I feel like the spring chicken here after listening to you all lol, but I suspect we are the same age. Multi frequency seems to be the rage with everyone chasing Minelab's Equinox. I certainly have had good results with mine, results may vary.
HH Jeff
just the thought 600, 800 f75, at max.... going to be asking a few times... If I have one that works the best for me then will part with what I have.the dfx I have is also multi frequency one of the first. The Explorer Se was so big back then and as I started hitting silver in spots I had already been with the dfx... So want to finish learning that too...

I really do not want to make a mistake... as the dfx and Explorer are good machines.,.. I can see me retired with 5 detectors when I retire in a year or 2...lol...still have the old coinmaster which feels stiff and heavy!
