It is hard to believe the "Tip" I got for working over the weekend. This is marked U.S. and is waaayyyyy cool! Military and gun buffs, prepare to droo

Tho i seriously spect that some knucklhead chromed it to make it look like a factory nickle one.
I can see where it had rust pitting on it,( left side front end of slide) and it is clear that whoever did the chroming got way too heavy with the buffer.
On the left side o' the slide you can see where the buffer 'rubbed' off some of the lettering.Particularly USA and the legs of the COLT horse emblem.
Had this chrome been factory, everything would be sharp and crisp with no rounded over edges from the buffer.
A chrome or nickle gun would never have been a Military issue. ( think neon sign )
Yeah, i know Patton carried a pair o' chrome plated .45 wheel guns but Generals don't actualy go into combat.
