It has been awful quiet in Tesoro land. Any news on a new machine?

I have to agree that Tesoro is sadly lacking in the TID/VID department. All the ad hype in the world won't 'make a silk purse out of a sow's ear', and that's what I see with their TID detectors. Yup, they've got a lifetime warranty and it's a great company, and I like how their detectors , for the most part, operate but.. not the TID ones. To me, it seems that they're so afraid of pulling market share away from their non-TID detectors that the TID ones have glaring faults built in. Given the prices of some pretty high performance detectors from other companies, it's rather puzzling. ..Willy.

Do they need a new machine??
No, not if they wish to fall behind.

How much better can it get??
Better.

Tesoro makes a First class detector.
Yes, they do.

The technology nut is a hard one to crack nowdays.
Indeed it is - but not impossible

Advancements are at a peak and metal detection circuits are simple.
Wrong on both counts. There is always room for improvement.

Personally I would take on an 80 or 90`s tesoro against their current models any time.
Do as you wish - I'll take the current crop.

But one thing that keeps them on top is their light weight units.
Agreed. They pioneered the idea.

in a way it is also their crutch because when picked up for the first time user`s think they are toys.
I know I did.

We all know better and kinda hope others never find out ...Dont we?
Count me in that.

I air tested my 60's Garrett Hunter BFO and found nearly the same results on coins, etc. I know the difference comes when the ground signal and other nuisances are added. Aren't there restrictions by FCC that really tie down a manufacturer's ability to add depth and such? So aren't we really talking about improving with what we're left to deal with?
