I use to think that until I got a Tesoro Silver uMax.

I'm finding I like the ED120 disc better then the ED180. I noticed with the Outlaw and Silver that the disc has much better resolution and with a flick of a switch, I've got all metal.

The Golden has some nice tones which allows you to cherry pick if you want to.

The notching allows you to knock out certain targets. However, you also run the risk of knocking out good targets that happen to fall in the same conductivity range, so notching is something you want to use sparingly.

Good analysis Smudge !

BTW, I am still using the "F" in Foil Disc. setting on my Compadre, that I got from an earlier post of yours, and with good results $1.34 .....A photo of my last finds is attached.....(4) Washington Quarters, (1) Roosevelt Dime, (3) Jefferson Nickels, (9) Lincoln Pennies and (7) pieces of trash, all in 2
