Is the Deus II fast?

Calabash excellent videos you and History teacher on your YouTube vids, taking it slow to understand the various nuances. My question : What was your secret getting the Deus II so fast? I pre-ordered mine beginning of November and I have no idea when I should expect to receive it! Keep the Deus II vids coming .

So, the million dollar question is. In your opinion is it the Nox killer? Once you figure out your settings I would love to see some head to head with the Nox both set up how you would normally hunt. Great videos so far , keep them coming.

Fast? I have detectors that will match or better that demo. Even with the slower sweep I only hear 3 or maybe 4 audio 'hits' from that long string of non-ferrous targets.

I do a similar 'test' for response-and-recovery using 7 Trade Tokens, all 5-Cent size, with the first and last centered at the '0' and '12' Inch marks of a 12" ruler, and the other 5 Tokens are centered at the 2", 4", 6", 8" and 10" marks. S 7 Trade Tokens that are just 2" center-to-center.

That makes a better 'test' for a detector's possible performance, and use of a smaller-size coil for working densely littered sites. Most of my detectors will hit 7-out-of-7 going both directions. So I'd like to see the Deus II performance on such a test side-by-side with other makes and models. That might sell me on Deus II.

If possible, Id love to see a comparison test in your test garden between the old Deus and new Deus This would tell us if the newer one is really that much better.

Love your video's and gained lots of knowledge.

Got any links to your videos showing these tests you mention?

indy thats the same guy thats promoting the Apex as a great detector in iron. Which is complete and utter nonsense...:poop:... Monte if you have not figured out the Deus 1 is the best iron hunting machine ever made by now there is no way anyone is selling you on the Deus II... I thought your 3 Apex was the cats meow..

I know. That's why I asked to see proof. ;)

Yes, I am a guy who is fond of the Apex. It is a lot of value for $425 with the MS-3 wireless heafphones. I use the Ripper as my primary-use coil, and I have compared the Apex, Vanquish 540 and Equinox 800 in a few Iron Nail tests and the Apex out-performed them.

I consider the Apex a good unit to hunt the 'Fringe areas' of the heavely-littered ghost towns I frequent, and it does reasonably-well in the more ferrous-littered areas.

For hunting the toughest iron plagued areas, I rely on my Nokta FORS CoRe and FORS Relic with their smallest coils. Next month makes 6 years since I started with the CoRe and haven't found a detector yet to out-perform it/them.

As for XP devices, I also have an ORX w/5X9.5 HF coil I mainly use, plus the 9" X-35 coil. It provides Deus-like performance for the dense Iron-littered places I frequent.

Yeah , I got some ocean front property in Arizona for you too Pal.
Easy does it, CD. I didn't see one negative comment about you or to you in my post. I simply agreed that yes, I like and promote the Apex, especially for those who are shopping on a limited budget and don't or can't go with a Deus or Equinox or even an ORX. or other higher-end model. Those looking in the mid-price range, and I promote it because I have used it and learned what it can do. Pretty simple, plus it works for me in the sites I like to take on. I am sure they are different from your iron littered places.

if conditions get more challenging I grab my CoRe or Relic with smaller coils.

By the way, I mentioned I own and like the ORX, and while I do not dive or get into water and have no real need for a submersible detector, I have been watching all that I can about the Deus II and, so far, it appeals to me and will likely be one of the next two detectors I acquire. Budget it tight right now as I finish my house, put it up for sale and move to Utah.

I don't have a dog in this fight so I will just say that any detector is only as good as the person using it. My brother would whip my butt using a white's 4900 because he had learned the machine as well as he could. He would hunt behind me and find stuff!

Good job on the videos are you going to hit the beach soon to try it I'm really interested in what it will do in the salt..I only use one detector now which is the nox and I find plenty with it no need for me to own 10 detectors I would like one more which will probably be a deus 11..

That is true .....BUT the person using it is ALWAYS limited to what it ( The Detector) can do.....It is possible that he was not a better detectorist than you but just had a better machine than you did? Just saying...

My problem with you is this Monte....What you say about the Apex is totally opposite of what I found in testing the Apex against the machines you mentioned. So ..... I am calling BS! I also film my test results and show it to the world. IMO your stuck in the old treasure hunting magazine days when they reviewed ALL detectors in a positive light no matter what the results were.... I am sorry to say those days are over my friend.
I know you hold weight with a lot of people because you been doing this a long time but to be honest after the Apex comments you made I have no faith in your detector reviews.
BTW this the Deus forum

I think your absolutely correct calabash you actually do videos take the time to show people the results the proof is in seeing the results not just talking . I really don’t want to spend my time “learning” 10 sub par machines when I can use two and make great finds I don’t have the time or money to spend thanks..,Merry Christmas 🎄
