Interesting you tube clip

I must agree that the size of that hasp is huge and a better test would be if the chain was in the ground ( or even on top of the ground with the hasp missing and the chain straightened out full length . Also it would be interesting to show how a chain can be heard when it is all balled up together .

The 14k gold necklace in the first video is huge and is a lot larger than the clasp on the fine gold necklace that I used in my video. The point that I'm trying make is you'd have to be pretty darn gullible to believe that a Compadre won't beep on that massive 14k gold necklace.

One other thing, I just tested the At Pro on the same necklace that I used in the video with the Compadre. If I was Southwind I'd run back over to the At Pro Forum.:)

How do we know that was a REAL 14kt gold chain or just some plated junk? The Compadre had a smaller coil on it and it's hard to tell from the video but they could have been swinging the coil just a hair higher out of the detection range of the chain. The Compadre did sound off once on the chain. The clasp on chains are usually small and so you don't have much room to play with before not hearing them. How do we know exactly where the settings were on the Golden Sabre and Compadre? Pictures and videos are great but sometimes you just have to be there to get the full story.

Sorry, didn't realize this area didn't appreciate honesty. Perhaps I am better off in another. I just have a sore spot for those who spew falsehoods which mislead those new to the hobby, but I guess you can live with yourself to each their own.

As you can tell I have a bit of a chip from this type of posts. Long ago I got suckered in by such a post saying this [enter your detector name here] is the best darn gold machine made. Not knowing it was dribble I bought into it and wasted my money on a machine that was good for the money only. But that part was never mentioned of course. Those who make the claim that it is unfair to compare it to a high end detector or "sports car to a truck" are correct. It is just like making the claim it is the best gold machine without adding for the price.

It doesn't matter which brand you prefer or what you use...hell all the major brands are good or they wouldn't be in business. Ha! It's all about just getting out and using whatever you prefer and enjoying the adventure!

Maybe he messed up the internal ground balance or the sens. Something could have been bad with the coil. I know mine will find a small gold chain. I guess I have a good compadre.... KEN. Ind

Again, I'm not trashing the Compadre because it is a great machine for the price. What I will do is call BS when I see it and I don't care who likes it or not. Call me an A-Hole but I will always be an honest A-Hole.

No offense tabman but my god look at the size of the clasp on the *cough* gold chain. The chain might as well been a piece of thread with a clasp that size any detector would have hit it hard. Also, those air tests aren't worth two cents with gold and you know it. Put that same piece of gold on the ground and see what happens. Don't know about you but I have yet to find a piece of gold in the air. The Compadre is a fair gold machine and a good one for the price, but there are much better for not much more. The AT Pro will smoke it like a toy on gold. I hunt mostly tot lots for my gold and many have wood chips at 10" or deeper. You think that Compadre will hit that at 10"? Be honest now. The AT Pro would bank it like a $5 whore at 10" LOL.

Southwind I have a AT Pro that I bought new not too long a go and it sets in the corner gathering dust. I could go over in the AT Pro Forum and spend days posting all that is wrong with the AT Pro, but I won't, because there's no need. I can afford any detector on the market, but I own a bunch of Tesoros instead because they work extremely well and are fun to use. Sooooo, why don't you go over in the AT Pro Forum and bloviate about how great all your detectors are, because most Tesoro users could care less about your detectors.:)

Amen tabman, I had a a ATP for two years it stayed at Gerratt more then it stayed at my house it leaked would not gb the coil leaked the housing leaked...... it was always something.Any one that buys one that's out of warranty is just asking for a lot of trouble.Yes it will find thin gold chains but not at 10 inches I would rather use my old Tesoro

I think this video will settle things. The little Compadre gets a 5 star rating when it comes to detecting this really fine 14k gold necklace. I did some testing where I just used enough discrimination to discriminated out a paper clip and the Compadre was still able to detect this very fine 14k gold necklace. The only detector that I have that did better in that test was my G2, but not by much. The Tesoro Compadre is one amazing machine at any price.

Now what does commonsense tell you how the Compadre would fair in a test with a huge gold necklace like the one in the above video? Huh?

Well said TabMan

I have found many gold chains with my compadre . In the first video we didnt see the disc setting or any markings on the alleged gold chain......I know that first video is aimed at

discrediting Tesoro ,question is why are some people so bent on slamming Tesoro ?? I'm not interested in what your selling and not about to convert . Well ok maybe to another

Tesoro
