I'm thinking of going out west and trying my hand at gold prospecting and gold detecting , I have a Vaquero and a Elite and I'm wandering which would be better?

The Vaquero is your best choice for nugget hunting! It's much more sensitive to small targets and has a manual ground balance. It would be a good idea to pick up either a 5.75" or 7"elliptical coil as they will be even more sensitive to the smaller nuggets you are likely to find.

The stock elliptical DD coil off the Lobo ST would be a great idea on the vaquero.
