Increasing Your Gold Jewelry Finds

I use an electronic pinpointer and a digger I made
that's like a big screw driver. I couldn't find a screw
driver like I wanted, so I made this one. I don't make
plugs in grass any more. I just work a small hole. It
took a while to learn how ta do this.

Happy Hunting,

Tabdog

I use the Shadow X5, and it can really find the tiniest piece of foil (smaller than a bb). I don't see where using a probe will help. The X5 is a beep and dig machine. If I only use a probe I would never be able to identify what the target is. I can't see any other way to go but dig.:goodnight:
The Trezurhunter.

I have many Troy machines and yes they are good on foil which is where one needs to be for jewelry. Once the machine as picked the target a probe will cause the least ground disturbance one should be able to take the target with a screwdriver not dig holes. There are some pinpointers that will not see foil which can be a problem and there are some that can. Dan

Nice post - I keep it a habit when a tab is dug up, always re-scan the dig. Never know what else is in there if a masking condition exist. Then when I fill in the hole (if I did dig instead of probe up) or close up the flap, I still re-scan. Don't matter, I just do.
