I have my dirt hunter(ET) and the Husband has his CZ

We will be in Orlando on June 30 for a few Days and then plan on detecting within an hour Drive

At this point we are considering Daytona Beach and Clearwater

We plan on changing our Hotel and have a rent a car so any reasonable suggestion will be considered

Any opinions and recommendations will be appreciated :)

Thanks and HH

HI, I will be in Clearwater area on the 25th of Feb and hopefully Daytona around the 28th, I will let you know how I do, since this will be my first trip to Florida I cannot recommend anything or best times but only what I find and where. I will be trying out my new Excalibur, so it will be a learning experience, hoping to run into nice kind detectorist that will give me a pointer or two. I also ordered a newly revised book call Metal Detecting East Coast Beaches by Don Crosby, $18 plus $5 shipping. If you want to read some excerpts from it give me your email and I will forward the information, Sorry I do not know how to include the email into this reply

daytona is a hard beach where people drive on it. clearwater is very nice and soft sand.been to both clearwater is by far the best choice.good luck.

clearwater south to st peters beach, probably 20to 30 miles of beach with many public access areas.it's all public beach you can hunt. side bar their a sea food restaurant called the wharf by st petes beach a must to stop

Well, I live on the north side of Orlando. We usually hunt New Smyrna and Daytona beaches. There's also some action south around Titusville and then the great draw of the treasure coast down near Stuart. It's going to be really hot and usually a chance of afternoon rains. Watch for the spot with the best low tides, especially minus tides. Also look for places that have had erosion events. If you want to hit a weekend hunt with us feel free to contact us and maybe we can all hook up.
