IMPORTANT!!!! IMPORTANT!!!!.................

I got several sets o re-chargables, 1600's 1800's & 2300's, the 2300's will only work in my radio control car, won't work in anything else, full charge and all, my camera won't recognize them, my detectors won't recognize them, the only set of rechargables that i have that will work in anything and do a fine job is the 1,600's, the 1,800's sometimes work sometimes dont, i tried ray o vac in my sony camera, wouldn't do nothin, energizers great, checked em all with multi tester, all gooders, soooo i really don't know what you got goin on, i just know what i got goin on is my batteries, all i know is it's weird but my problem is no longer a problem since i figured it out, i just use the 1600's or energigers and save the other for my toys, runs them real good, and just can't figure out how you can mess them springs up puttin the batteries in, they just go so far , Oh; well i got my problem solved:detecting::minelab:

Thats along the lines I was thinking. It only takes a little shift to kill the contact. When it falls over that would be more than a little shift........Off it goes.

I do not have a Micrometer or I would do it...I would be interested in just knowing if the batteries are different in lengths. I know some are smaller around. I stil think it's the spring connectors causing the problem. If it were the regulators almost all rechargeable batteries would shut down due to power variance

I had my 70 mysteriously shut down several times. I then thought the springs were weak; but now I believe it may have been the choice of the particular batteries physical size... I switched to another well known non rechargeable and the problem has not recurred. I know Minelab is aware of this "problem." But after due consideration on my part, IMO in my case, I believe it was the first set of batteries (size). Today battery manufacturers buy overseas, and the (size) tolerancies may not be consistently uniform.

I am now using Duracell "AA" batteries (MN1500~LRS~ 1.5 volts~ MAR 2013~ Made in U.S.A.) I bought a 16 pack of them and very pleased with their performance.

One thought... I use a pencil eraser and brighten the positive and negative contact ends of each battery. Also, I do not use any battery
until it goes dead. I dispose of them while they are not used fully used up...
