I'm very sorry to report that

The Sov. is almost a turn on and go machine compared to a learning period for most on the Explorer..Indeed the tonal audio of a Sov. is different than the flute like tones of an Explorer and all of us have different hearing which may have been the problem..In addendum don't sell a Sov. short as after all its a Minelab and many do well with them...

Hi Dan, I have a lot of respect for what you say on the forums and look forward to your posts.
No, I would never sell the Sov. short. I really was sad to have to send it back because some of the people I personally know make great finds with theirs. Maybe I am just getting too set in my ways?

Anyway, maybe in the future I will give it another try.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Tony

I have mine set on the turn on and go settings and have really never changed them. I feel that I find things just as well this way as monkeying around with the settings. The only problem i have had was with the probe switch. So I watch it close.

I tried moving the settings once and went back to the turn on and go settings.
