I'm Torn....

Thanks for all your input everybody.

I went to the dealer today and I walked out without buying anything.

I decided to give up on the Sovereign because you all have convinced me its just too dangerous to use one on salt water beaches, even if you don't plan on going into the water. The salt water beach is really just a nasty environment.

So its probably going to be a CZ or an Excal, but I don't have enough for a new Excal right now, and I'm kind of nervous about buying used beach detectors.

I'm going to do some research on this to see what's best for me.

Smudge, not sure if the unit sold yet, but there is a CREAMPUFF of a used Excal II on the Classifieds at an EXCEPTIONAL price. There ARE well kept used ones out there.
 
Don't buy a used Excal that does not have a transferable warranty!! The first time you have to send it in for repair at your cost....you will be crying! Nice machines but when they break (an they all eventually break) you have alot of down time and expense.
