I'm interested in comments on the Garrett sleeper coils.

I'm interested in feed back about any of the Garrett detectors that are armed with DD coils. Personally, I have found that the 10in DD Scorcher coil on my 1500 is the most effective detector and coil combination at IDing coins that I've ever come across. After a target is acquired, you just whip this coil over your target rapidly and listen to how wide the signal is. It's easy to hear and a very fast way of IDing targets! Much quicker than playing around with the imaging coil and more reliable too ( not to mention the target separation).
I'm interested to know that if you are finding the same thing with any of the 10x14 DD coils, the Scorpion with it's DD coil or with the new large DD coil for the Ace. I had the opportunity to play with a mates Sovereign yesterday while we went out for a hunt together, and while I was very impressed with it's performance; from a practical stand point, it wasn't as effective as my 1500.
If those of you that use any of these coils, if you could comment on them about using the signal width to ID with, I'd appreciate it.(especially the 10x14 DD coils.)
Thanks.

I prefer double"D" search coils:detecting: Main reason being the fact that they cover more ground at depth than concentric search coils. Target seperation is also great whether using the 5"x10" or the 10'X14". This holds true on any detector/Scorpion/GTI/GTAx/GMH/Ace with 10"x14"Excellerator. I've been enjoying that 10"x14"Excellerator on my GTAx1250. Works like a charm. Much lighter in weight than the Garrett 10"x14" doudle"D"s, although the Garrett's are virtually indestructable:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Thanks Metalhead.
It seems that these coils are going under most folks radar, if the lack of response is anything to go by. From what I've seen, they sure are great coils!

It would be nice if they made the 10"x14"Excellerator coil for the Grand Master Hunter. I have the Garrett 10X14 which I like except that it is just too heavy for me to swing for hours at a time.

I have a 10x14 DD ,but I don't use it .I use 10x14 inch mono coil because the mono will find Gold chains and the DD will not.The mono coil work better in Black sand or on the beach.I spend 20 to 40 hours a week in the water.I use The Infinium LS, it go's much deeper than the Excals.I also own an excal 1000, It's like what Garret says The Infinium LS is the deepest detector out there Today. Thanks Ron.
You are the second person that I know that experienced that. There is another Aussie that comes on here from time to time that also has an Excal that was blown away by how much more depth the Infinium got over it. That's certainly not to knock the Excal as it has a brilliant albeit different audio system. I got to play with a mates Sov the other day (a land hunt) and was very impressed with it's audio info.
