Was at East Harbor Beach in Ohio on Lake Erie today. I am a dedicated water hunter having given up on land hunting because the water hunting is so lucrative.
East Harbor Beach is a great beach....with the water knee deep to over a quarter mile and a very gradual slope to past the breakwater that is there.
I started hunting today with my Excalibur II 1000 with a WOT coil and noticed that a group of people were standing around in knee deep water looking down. I asked what they were looking for.
They said that one of the women in their group had an ankle bracelet that she lost and they have been looking for it for almost 3 hours. They described it to me. It was made of silver and coral of all things. A silver cross with silver beads intertwined with coral. Tough to see in the water for sure. Given to her by her mother who recently passed away.
I told them that if they could show me where they lost it I would find it for them. They told me that they are getting hungry and if I do find it, they were at the campground.
I told them if it is there, I will find it. Sure enough, after they left not more than 15 minutes later I found it. This is the third time in as many months that I have had a situation that someone lost something and I found it for them in the water. I left the water and went to the campground. When I gave her the ankle bracelet, her husband offered me a $50 reward. I told him no, that would not be necessary. I told him to pay it forward to the next person they meet that needs help. They did offer me a hamburger and took them up on that offer.
Yeah, I am Finderskeeper.....but the losers with me are not weepers.....if I can identify the owner.
