A policemans badge, or any law enforcement badge. Be it current or from the Old West. What about a Pinkertons? Theres has to have been countless Badges issued threw the years. I think many years ago someone posted a Texas Ranger Badge they came across, might be wrong about that tho. Any of you guys know of any?

technically not a "police" badge, found recently... Public safety officers here are sworn officers... job duties are different. my first ever badge find in over 20 years...

Thats what I'm talking about Gunwolf, that surely counts. Bet many of us are looking for #1. Maybe a little story if you can, pretty interesting.

I don't know how old this badge is... maybe 1980's? but in the 60's-70 race riots and unrest, I was told Firefighters wore a similar badge after being sworn in to assist in policing certain areas... here public safety is police and Firefighters... the badge was found in the grass parking area of the local fair which has been active since 1903ish.. in the 1930's threw 50's Nascar actually held races here on a dirt oval track, and this spot was supposed to be the original Talladega speedway... The deal was close, but the City of Spartanburg had a no alcohol sales thing on Sundays... it was the deal breaker and the rest is history! I'm glad i got permission to hunt this area... before 1903 it was a horse track... I pulled a 1898 IH as my oldest coin so far... most of the finds are dated 1920-1950's...
