Idea, dumb or not?

Mike that's what I was thinking of when making the blade as the coil...... As if that were possible....you'd know if you were digging right

Outdated? No not at all. Could there be improvements? well it depends on what you want. Here is how I see it. Every post seems to lean toward the perfect metal detector. The one that can do it all. Well, It is not out there. Because if it was then all the other various models would stop selling. I myself just yesterday purchased a Golden Umax brand new. I wanted to get the Vaquero but could not grasp the one tone concept. If the Vaquero had multi-tones I would have purchased it. But even in that configuration the Vaquero would not be the "perfect" detector. But it would have been what I was looking for. In the end i feel you purchase a detector for the hobby. If you do a little research and know what kind of hunting you will most likely be doing (relic, coin, water, etc.) then you can make an educated purchase. But no one will ever be able to tell you which detector is the "perfect" metal detector for you. Like the song lyrics state "love the one your with". Happy hunting.

What's wrong with having 2 Favourite Machines. If i am going to a beach on a Monday morning that i usually hunt at every week i will take my Tesoro Cortes..If i am going to a place that i haven't hunted before but say there was a school there 100 years ago i take my Minelab Sovereign.Why.?...So far the most depth i have from the Tesoro is about 10"..The deepest i have dug with the Minelab Sovereign is 19"..I like both machines about the same and each machine works great for what i need it to..The only change i would like to see with Tesoro is more Depth..The only thing i would like to have Minelab have changed on the Sovereign is a Lighter Machine..Tesoro has a great price and a Lifetime Warranty on their machines. If they were to improve the depth on their machines how much more would they cost us.?..So i guess you could say they may be a bit outdated but no one else has a Lifetime Warranty or a machine in this price range for all you get.I'm happy useing the 2 machines,,and the others i still have i will soon sell...
