ID Excel or CZ-70 Pro

The ID Excel is not as deep as the CZ-70 Pro, but I sure like the weight difference. Actually I like the ID Excel better.

Good going Mike,

I know it is hard to believe and it sounds like hype, But...I have never dug as many non-ferrous targets co-located with iron before as I have in the short time I have been using the Excel. They don't all read "pretty" but if you are willing to dig the iffy bouncers and semi repeaters its amazing what turns up. Woops, maybe we should just keep it a secret.

Good news on the smaller coil too! Thanks for the info!

Mike,

For a newbie on this forum, I find myself trying to scrap together all the information I can to make a solid decision as to which metal detector to invest my hard earned money on. In this post you say: "The CZ70 is my all-time favorite machine next to the Coinstrike."

I have cut and pasted a review you placed at Metal Detector Review back in February 2005 below:

Best coin machine on the planet, Feb 26, 2005

Reviewer: mtdoramike from Central Florida

I've been using the CZ5 now for about a year. It is the best coin machine bar none. It consistantly out performs the Coinstrike & CZ70pro. Its truely a nickel magnet. Its ashame that they replaced this unit with the CZ3d after all these years. I think it was a big mistake, but mistakes are made all the time with the intent to improve something that doesn't need improving."

These posts contradict each other and make it hard for someone that reads your posts to draw conclusions. Now how is it that the CZ-5 consistanly out performs the CZ7pro and Coinstrike yet the CZ7pro is your all-time favorite detector followed by the Coinstrike???

any CZ is deeper......but the Excel really outshines it in trash. All the indian heads (like this one) & a flying eagle cent I found recently came from a site I'd pounded first with my CZ-7a & thought was hunted out. Not even close, & I'll take the Excel there again with the soil now wet & find even more I'm sure. I heard a couple people say they avoided the Excel because it looked "like a toy". They are missin' out I guess :D
