ID Edge---Not seeing much said about it.

Yea, maybe the Edge is one of those machines folks have to use a few times to appreciate it does have some depth capabilities greater than an Excel. Plus, of course it also will be excellent in trash/iron like it's 2 "brothers". I do think your correct, that the audio can be an indication of depth. A shallow coin really screams solid & ID locks. A soft, quiter signal can often be a deep coin or something like you mention. I always pinpoint as well to look for a low number to verify it is a deepie when I hear a softer signal. Pinpointing also gives an excellent indication of target size too. When I was hunting musketballs last week it didn't take long to know a small bullet from a bigger plow part just by carefull pinpointing back & forth across the soil.....
